On November 30th, 2024, Headfort Foundation for Justice hosted an impactful and engaging empowerment program in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Themed “Justice for Survivors of Sexual Violence.” This event brought together key stakeholders from the legal, law enforcement, and advocacy sectors to address the urgent need for justice for survivors of sexual violence.
Among the distinguished guests were Honourable Justice A.A. Shobayo, who represented the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Honourable Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, Chairperson of FIDA Ogun State Branch, Mrs. Taiwo Olusesi, Inspector Rawlings Olaide, a representative from the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Branch, and Mrs. Adebo, former Chief Registrar of the Ogun State Judiciary. Their collective presence underscored the importance of a unified approach in addressing sexual violence and ensuring accountability. The program also featured a robust exchange of ideas and strategies, with a focus on providing tangible support for survivors, promoting legal reforms, and fostering a safe environment for all.
The event was further strengthened through partnerships with Arogi Trauma Center and VoiceIT. These organizations played a pivotal role in ensuring that the event not only highlighted legal solutions but also integrated emotional and psychological healing for survivors.
The program was a resounding success, demonstrating our commitment to not only addressing sexual violence but also advocating for survivors at every level of society.
