Police brutality has become an alarming issue in Nigeria, with at least 7 out of every 10 young people having experienced it. This widespread abuse has sparked significant agitation among the youth, evident in their demands for the government to end SARS and address police brutality in the country.
Headfort Foundation, an all-female team of lawyers, has committed to providing free legal services to victims of police brutality, as well as to indigent and wrongly incarcerated individuals. In celebration of their first anniversary, they conducted an interview with Vanguard. By that time, Headfort Foundation had successfully secured the release of approximately 100 wrongly accused individuals, some of whom shared their experiences during the interview.
