This young man was charged for "HIDING IN A DARK PLACE WITH INTENTION TO COMMIT CRIME" Listening to this man's story, he told us that he travelled from Cotonou to Nigeria by road and got to Bariga around 12 mid night. He had no money to lodge in a hotel and he decided to sleep in a parked bus. The bus was not locked and while in the bus, vigilante people saw him, he explained to them his ordeal and they allowed him sleep in peace. Around 4am, police on patrol saw him in the dark and arrested him. Remember he has no money on him. He was charged to court and remanded in prison. We met him in prison on 31st of January, took up his case and we have since been representing him in court for free. On the 3rd of March, 2020, the court struck out the charge against him after 3months in prison. He is now back to his school in Cotonou after his release yesterday. He was very happy to have benefitted from our service. .
