criminal justice systems until they’re fair for all.
Founded in 2019 to provide access to justice, advocate
for human rights, and juvenile justice in Nigeria, Headfort is
now a national organization that partners with impacted
communities and government leaders for change.
We
develop just solutions so that money doesn’t determine
freedom; fewer people are in jails, prisons, and everyone in
the system is informed, has access to legal practitioners and
treated with dignity regardless of their socio-economic
status.

In April, 2019, the Baale's son came with police to arrest him on the basis that he was part of those who stole a bike. He was taken to SARS office and later charged to court for stealing a motorcycle. The court remanded him in Kirikiri.
Though the court granted him bail. However, he couldn't perfect the bail being the only breadwinner of his family with school-age kids, causing a great constraints on his finances. And since July 2019, he had been remanded in prison.
